Baker Atlas has recently successfully completed the first MaxiWave™ survey

Paris, 3rd of September 2008. « Baker Atlas has recently successfully completed the first MaxiWave™ survey in an onshore well in Middle East. The survey which consisted of a ZVSP and 2 Walkaway lines was completed in under 10 hours which included the rig up and deployment in open hole conditions. Despite the badly washed out borehole, due to the motorized locking arm deployment mechanism on each tool the data quality recorded was significantly better than was anticipated and this coupled with the purpose designed Navigation QC software, ensured a quality and efficient operation.
A second successful job has subsequently been run and more operations in similar conditions are already planned for this system.
The MaxiWave™ system has up to 100 levels that can be deployed using standard 7 conductor logging cable and therefore with a total array aperture of up to 2000 m (6562 ft) this enables complete downhole coverage to be achieved without having to move the tools. This not only provides for a consistent data set but also reduced rig operational time. The system can be safely and quickly deployed both in open and cased hole environments, both on and offshore and with the 4 Mbits telemetry achieved on standard 7 conductor wireline cables, the high sample rates available makes Maxiwave™ unique in the industry and the ideal, choice for the large walkaway and 3DVSP surveys.
