Sercel announces the first sale of Nautilus® Acoustic System
Date: October 22, 2008
Sercel announced today that Wavefield Inseis has purchased the first Nautilus® Acoustic System to be installed on the newly built M/V Geowave Voyager. The Nautilus® Acoustic System, one of the key elements in the Nautilus® integrated streamer steering system, achieves accurate streamer positioning through acoustic range measurements. The Nautilus® Acoustic System provides inline streamer power acoustic modules allowing quicker and safer deployment and maintenance operations.
Willy Forland, Navigation Manager of Wavefield Inseis ASA commented: "After having seen the performance of the Nautilus® Acoustic System during a field trail onboard one of our vessels, the Geowave Endeavour, earlier this year, I was convinced that the system is ready for full scale deployment. Not only does this system provide an acoustic system that is integrated with our chosen streamer technology, but it also provides a step towards fulfilling our strategy of being able to offer integrated lateral streamer steering."
