This extension of the 408UL technology has been designed to support the challenges of shallow water and transition zone seismic operations down to 50 meters. The system benefits from the high level of reliability of the 408UL technology and the in-water mechanical experience of Sercel's SU1-ULS system. No other systems have successfully integrated the ruggedness and ease-of-handling crucial for safe and efficient deployment and retrieval operations in these environments.

Developed with an inline two-channel unit integrated into a cable that has a breaking strength of 800 daN, the 408ULS is rugged enough to withstand the effects of currents and tides.

The light weight cables enable the 408ULS to be carried by small maneuverable boats and safely handled by the crew members even in obstructed areas where deployment may have previously been considered too complicated.

The 408ULS benefits from the same central unit as the 408UL (CMXL) and its field equipment can be connected to the land field equipment (LINK).

Benefits of using 408ULS:

  1. Field efficiency
    • Extension of the 408UL
  2. Designed to be deployed and used in difficult areas and operations
    • Small & light enough to be carried by small maneuverable boats
    • Support the mechanical stresses induced by the currents and tides or related to the deployment and retrieval of the system
