With the launch of the 428XL, the DSU3-428 has been introduced with enhanced
capabilities to ensure more accurate, higher resolution data. The DSU3-428 is
an integrated package made up of station electronics and three digital accelerometers
based on MEMS (Micro-machined Electro-Mechanical Sensor) technology with low
power consumption and full functionality at any tilt angle. Thanks to the new
electronics, the DSU3-428 can be deployed at any tilt angle.
Links of DSU3-428 can be used in conjunction with 428XL field system. FDUs with
analog sensors and DSU3-428 with digital accelerometers can be used within the
same spread under control of a single central unit. In addition, the DSU3-428
is fully supported by all software functions and telemetry flexibility in the
428XL.
The DSU3-428, as all electronics in the 400 Series family, is fully testable.
A full set of tests are run by the system automatically all day to ensure the
highest quality signal on every shot.
