Sercel Marine Training
Seal System Course
Sercel has three different Seal courses available to better answer you needs : Seal Intensive, Seal Extended and Seal Advanced
Both Seal Extended and Seal Intensive courses cover all aspects of the data acquisition chain; from our latest streamer technology, to the intuitive architecture of our Seal System software. With strict Quality Control measures at the forefront, also of importance are the online capability, attention to detail, and the seamless integration of the QC package. Those completing this course will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the operation and intricacies of our entire marine system.

Duration: One week for the Seal Intensive, two weeks for the
Seal Extended
The Seal Advanced course is particularly intended to Seal system experimented trainees.Through advanced system configurations, this training will enable Seal users to become completely autonomous within a week. Content include system and streamer troubleshooting and repair processes, advanced training on SQC Pro and description of sensor and instrument tests. Trainees may also take the opportunity to tackle issues already experimented onboard in a Q/A exchange with the instructor.

Duration: One week
SeaPro Bin Training Course
The course aims at providing navigators with all the information to successfully
carry out Seismic Binning Analysis and QC using the latest generation of Sercel
Quality Control Equipment. The course combines practical training with theoretical
instruction and can be adapted to suite the experience of the participants.
Included are the following topics: Coverage Basic Knowledge, Coverage Analysis,
attribute Analysis, Software Configuration and installation.
Part of the course is also dedicated to the playback of real field results from
marine survey analysis.

SYNTRAK 24 Bit Operations Training
Sercel offers 24 Bit SYNTRAK MSTS (Multi-Streamer Telemetry Systems) training for streamers and OBC. These courses
begin with basic data acquisition theory and progress to Multi-Streamer Telemetry System operation. Other topics include
system hardware description, setup, software configuration, parameter entry, and data quality control. Troubleshooting
is performed on the third day, with bugs placed in the system for students to locate.
Location: These courses are taught in English and available
only in our Houston location, on special request.
Duration: 3 days
GCS90 Gun Controller System Course
The GCS90 Gun Controller System course is a one-day module that can be added
as a fourth day of instruction to any 3-day operations course. This course
begins with basic seismic source control theory and progresses to system toubleshooting
and
repair. Other topics include system configuration, hardware description, setup
and software installation and parameter entry.
Location: This course is taught in English and available only
in our Houston location, on special request.
Duration: 1 day
Guardian® Basic Cable Maintenance Course
This Basic Cable Maintenance course aims to equip the candidates with the skills to fault find Guardian® cables and undertake a
range of the most basic repair tasks. The course is a combination of theory and practical sessions, with candidates given ample
opportunity to practice the repairs for themselves.
Duration: 6 days of 10 hours each
Guardian® Advanced Cable Maintenance Course
This advanced Guardian® Cable Maintenance course aims to build on the skills
acquired during the basic cable maintenance course, and to equip the students
with the skills to undertake any repair task on their Guardian® solid cable.
Duration: 6 days of 10 hours each
Marine Sources Training
The Marine Sources training can be organized at the user's convenience for
G. GUN II, G. GUN, Mini G. GUN, Parallel Cluster Assembly, GI GUN, Mini GI and
S15 Watergun.
This course emphasizes the ease of use and maintenance of Sercel Marine Sources.
The workshop also includes test in a dedicated pool where air guns can be fired.
Location: This course is held at Sercel Marine Sources Division
in Toulon (South of France).

Sercel Land Training
eUNITE Intensive
This course aims at providing the observers with all the information to successfully ensure the seismic data acquisition by Sercel eUNITE.
Upon completion of this course the trainee will have a comprehensive understanding of the operation and implementation of the eUNITE system. This course is intended for customers already familiar with 428XL acquisition system.
Content includes Infrastructure and Autonomous way of operation, Infill and full UNITE system, field equipment specifications, eUNITE software installation and a thorough view on the eUNITE acquisition chain.
Part of the training is also dedicated to the performance of all the settings for a survey start-up and regular production.
A minimum of 4 trainees is required for this unscheduled training course.

eUNITE
This training course is intended for people who will perform acquisitions with eUNITE system. Specifications of UNITE & 428XL are reviewed before various examples including both technologies on the same spread. The schedule covers in depth the UNITE part of the system. Parameters for vibroseismic operation (slip-Sweep, flip-flop, Navigation, Guidance, etc…) are reviewed. The training is completed by an introduction to Sercel Quality Control tools (Signal Graphic Analyzer and the eSQC-Pro).
At the completion of the course, the trainee will be proficient to maximize the performance potential of the eUNITE System.
A minimum of 4 trainees is required for this unscheduled training course.

428XL Fully Integrated Data Acquisition System
This training starts by a knowledge improvement on the Seismic Areal Network taking into account all the technical solutions for Detours (Wireless solutions with LRU, WRU, Laser, Fiber Optic, cable with or without DSU/FDU, snaking, etc…).
The trainee will receive the know-how to define the optimum Vibrator Electronic (VE432) parameters for vibroseismic operation (slip-Sweep, flip-flop, Navigation, Guidance, etc…).
The training is completed by an introduction to Sercel Quality Control tools (Signal Graphic Analyzer and the eSQC-Pro). Also included is the practice on the new Graphic User Interface and 428XL.
At the completion of the course, the trainee will be proficient to maximize the performance potential of the 428XL System.
Location: This course is taught in Nantes, Houston or Dubai.

VE464 Extended Training Course
The training course aims at providing field supervisor, observers and geophysicist involved with seismic data acquisition with all the information to successfully prepare and ensure the quality control of seismic data acquired by the last generation of Sercel Land equipment.
A part of the course is dedicated to playback real field QC results from Sercel instrument for analysis. The course includes the following topics: General overview, Source emission, Quality Control and 428XL-VE464 (Fully integrated vibrator control).

Sercel Instruments and Software Quality Control: Facilities and Analysis
At the completion of the course, the trainee will be proficient in using the full range of Sercel Quality Control tools (428XL, eSGA and eSQC-Pro).
The training course is both theoretical and practical with a whole range of exercises on realistic situations.

SeaRay® 428 Training Course
This course aims at providing the observers with all the information to successfully ensure the seismic data acquisition by Sercel SeaRay® 428 OBC equipment.
Upon completion of this course the trainee will have a comprehensive understanding of the operation and implementation the SeaRay 428 system.
Content includes on-board and in sea-equipment presentation and application, SeaRay® 428 software installation and a thorough view on the SeaRay® 428 acquisition chain.
Part of the training is also dedicated to the performance of all the settings for a survey start-up and regular production.
