Geothermal

Geothermal energy is derived from the Earth's energy, which is converted into heat. It's crucial to have a clear understanding of underground before implementation of geothermal solution for exemple on a large scale.

    OVERVIEW

Vertical or deep geothermal energy requires digging a very deep well if we are on industrial or civil exploitation (80 to 3000 m depending on the nature of the subsoil).

It is below 50 meters deep that you really start to take advantage of the terrestrial heat, the temperature reaching 40°C / 104°F.

It's critical to have a high-resolution visualization and analysis for characterization of near-surface variability to optimize use of geothermal activity.

    WHY SERCEL

    operation and quality

Sercel designs and manufactures high-tech solutions for subsurface exploration. Capitalizing on its world-leading position in the seismic acquisition industry for over 60 years. For geothermal applications as geothermal targets are of the same order as oil exploration targets, Sercel provides innovative solutions with no limitation on depth.

    • Advanced site characterization with field measurements, lab testing and digital modeling
    • Site Modeling of geotechnical and groundwater behavior
    • Measure performance of facilities in real-time
    • Safety and risk assessments
    • Support to existing teams

    APPLICATIONS

Geneva , the most important Geothermal study.

Before launching an exploitation phase, an evaluation phase is necessary to locate a geothermal resource accurately and assess its geological potential.

This geophysical survey is a first in Europe in terms of its complexity and size. For Sercel it is also an opportunity to demonstrate the versatility of its equipment, and show that its expertise can meet the new challenges of energy transition.

More than 20,000 WiNG nodes were installed in this broad and highly complex environment.
